We limit the processing of personal data to what is necessary to operate this website and to respond to inquiries you send us. We do not use cookies, social media plugins, or any tracking that requires your consent under the GDPR or the German TDDDG (formerly TTDSG). The processing that does take place is described below.

2.1 Hosting with GitHub Pages

This website is hosted via GitHub Pages, a service provided by GitHub, Inc. 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA ("GitHub"). When you access this website, GitHub processes technical data, including your IP address, to deliver the website content. This processing is technically necessary for the functionality and security of the website.

We do not have access to these technical data or any server logs from GitHub Pages that would allow us to identify individual visitors. Databuddy does not set cookies, does not use device fingerprinting, and does not collect data that can be used to identify you personally or to track you across other websites. For this reason, no consent banner is required.

The service processes anonymized, aggregated information such as pages viewed, referring website, approximate region (derived on the fly from a truncated IP address that is not stored), device and browser type, interactions (e.g. clicks, scroll depth), performance metrics, and errors. If you use the contact form on this website to reach out to us, we process the information you provide: your name, email address, and the details of your inquiry (such as your company or project name, a description of what you do, the type of work you are looking for, your budget range, and any additional message). We use this information solely to respond to your request and to explore a possible collaboration.

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract) and, where applicable, our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Form submissions are transmitted and delivered to us by Web3Forms, a form-processing service provided by Backpackfy Ventures LLP that forwards submissions to us by email. We retain inquiries for as long as necessary to process your request and to handle any resulting business relationship, after which the data is deleted unless we are legally required to retain it.
